Iqbal

Iqbal: Our Artisans

Iqbal is one of our senior artisans. He is 52 years old. He has been working in the carpet industry for the past 32 years and the last 28 years he is with us. He has now become a part of our extended family. He supports a family of 8 people, his wife, his 2 sons, and 4 daughters. One of them got married a few months ago.

His father was a renowned bangle artisan, creativity runs in the family. Iqbal was not always into carpet manufacturing, he used to work as a mechanic in the local garages. But he couldn’t keep his creative side hidden. 

He started learning the art of carpet making. With his rigorous efforts and continuous handwork, he managed to make his first carpet of size 4x6 in more than 9 months. After that, there was no looking back for him. He mastered the art in a couple of years and started innovating.

He is from Agra, Uttar Pradesh. His hobbies are traveling and designing.

Muskan

Muskan: Our artisan

Muskan is one of our budding artisans. She is 24 years old and she has started working in the last 3 years. She is a fast learner and has a keen interest in colors. She like mixing different colors and bringing the most out of them. She took the inspiration for carpet making from her mother and she still makes her favorite patterns. She likes visiting historical monuments and her favorite is Fatehpur Sikri, west of Agra.

She lives with her parents and brothers. Her hobbies are cooking and stitching. She also enjoys watching daily soap operas. She is very hard working and want to be a pioneer in the field.

Manoj

Manoj: Our Artisan

Manoj is one of our most experienced artisans. He is 40 years old and is in the carpet manufacturing process for the last 20 years. He is with us for the last 15 years. He loves mixing the designs and making a few. He takes inspiration from various Mughal monuments, cities, and gardens. He enjoys traveling and try to make the best out of it the rugs.

He has a family of 6, with 3 daughters and a son. One of his daughters got married and his sons finished with his high school last year. His brother works on the zardozi art. Both the brothers are extremely talented and highly skilled. He is a huge movie buff and the biggest fan of Mr. Bachhan. He loves spending time with his childhood friends from his hometown in Devri Road, near Agra.

Faiyaaz

Faiyaaz: Our Artisan

Faiyaaz is our senior-most artisan. He was an excellent artisan and mostly worked on silk rugs. Currently, he holds the position of production manager. With his vast experience of 34 years, he heads a division of more than 550 artisans. He is an exceptional manager, who knows about the problems and grievances of his team members beforehand.

His father was a farmer in the nearby village of Agra. He has a family of 2, his wife and his son. He likes watching the news and debating on any political matter.

Sanauvar

Sanauvar: Our Artisan

Sunny manages material procurement and wool dying. He is 52 years old and is working with us for the last 20 years. He has a family of 4 members.

He is from Agra and knows everything about the carpet making process. His hobbies are listening to music and he enjoys spending time with his family. He loves his daughters and always mention them in any conversation.
